The core of a debate competition is to examine every side of important and arguable topics in an atmosphere of reasoned argument and respectful discourse. Besides, debate participation promotes problem solving and innovative thinking, and helps students to build links between words and ideas that make concepts more meaningful. Debating on a given topic also teaches students to synthesize wide bodies of complex information, and to exercise creativity and implement different ways of knowing.
Young orators in our branch belonging to grade IV- VII put forth an enormous effort to do well in this intellectually exciting activity and they came through it with flying colours. Students from different grades spoke in favour and against the given notions and they effectively supported their stand with reason and logic. Judges and audiences thoroughly appreciated the participants’ excellent quality of oration.
