In order to excel in both their academic and personal lives, students’ mental well-being must be a top focus. That is why BCP Qasimabad hosted a mental health awareness week in the hopes of relieving their everyday worries and engaging in activities that will impact them positively. It began with a group discussion practice where students explored and acknowledged the significance of mental health wellness. During this week, we put up two different wall posters:
The first was a Gratitude Wall where students expressed what they were thankful for. Despite the initiative being intended for A – Levels, students from all over the campus contributed to the gratitude wall with their own words. This proved to be a vital platform where the entire school united and radiated optimism and positivity.
The second one was a Positive Post-it wall where students wrote down positive affirmations regarding their teachers and fellow classmates. Students were amused and relieved to read positive remarks about them and also their loved ones.
The week ended with an art therapy activity where students had an opportunity to channel their inner artists onto pebbles through painting them. These pebbles were then displayed on flowerpots at the campus building entrance, so that every time students pass through these pots and gaze upon the painted pebbles, they reminisce about their positive memories at school; and be ensured that no matter what they might be going through, their stubborn inners scars can always be painted with positivity.
