Cultural Day was celebrated on 14th March 2022 in Beaconhouse all across the board with full devotion and enthusiasm. Cultural days are not only a national celebration of our arts and culture but a strategic approach to make students take pride in our rich heritage. The students gain perspective of the importance of local arts and artisans, crafts and craftsmanship, culture and cuisine. The main goal of cultural day is to appreciate and support the cohesive national heritage and culture of Pakistan as well as delineating the idiosyncratic characteristics of all the provinces.

To foster the spirit of festivity all the students and staff were dressed up in traditional Pakistani attires and carried small flags with them. Early Years enthusiastically took part in making flags themselves using painting, collage pasting and coloring. Students made ajrak prints using stamps and decorated handicrafts. Students of both early years and lower primaries were shown special presentations on each of the provinces of Pakistan and it’s distinctive language, lineage, legacy of traditions, attire and food. The students took part in describing which of the province they belonged to and it’s customs.

The students enjoyed and danced to the beats of provisional music, from scintillating and exciting bhangra beats to lively folk melodies and songs. Students brought Regional foods with them and shared with their peers.

Students also played conventional games by the likes of customary pakran pakrae and baraf pani to the classic sports of kho kho, keekli and pitho garam.

The day ended with a renewed spirit of patriotism and happy children.
