The English Language Development Program at Primary II, PECHS aims to develop the English creative writing skills of our young learners by focusing on vocabulary and punctuation.
A spelling bee was held at Primary II, PECHS to showcase the vocabulary skills acquired by our students on 26th January 2022. Spelling Bees help develop learner’s vocabulary, confidence and reading skills.
The air was buzzing with anticipation as each team comprising of students from Grades III, IV and V took their places on the lovely ‘Bee’ themed stage designed by our Art Department. The Expert Team was well-prepared to help out when called upon.

Cheered on by their supporters in the audience, our super spellers commenced Round 1 of the Spelling Bee with a Rapid Fire round with spellings from their readers.
The suspense built up further in Round 2 which consisted of The Wheel of Anagrams where students were given a set of letters from which they had to form words consisting of a minimum of 3 letters. Our teams worked diligently on their anagrams, using all the space they could as they rushed to fill out their answer sheets with all the words they could make.
It was suddenly the final Rapid Fire Round of unseen spellings. The air was scented with anticipation and each team was determined to win. As the words got more difficult several of the young spellers used their helplines to ask for assistance from the Expert Team.
Then, it was time for the scores. With a thudding heart, our teams turned to the scoreboard to check their scores. It was amazing to see that all of our young spellers had done so well. Winners of the Spelling Bee were awarded certificates and trophies by our Headmistress Ms. Saima Anwar while certificates were distributed to all participants of the Spelling Bee 2022.
We congratulate all our teams, for in our eyes you were all winners to qualify for the Spelling Bee 2022.
The winners of the Spelling Bee 2022 was the team Super Bees with M. Mustafa Lodhi, Quratulain Anwer and Nimra Maryam.
2nd position was won by the Honey Bees with Shanzay Shazaib, Hareem Parekh and Mehwish Ali.
Last but not the least, the 3rd position was won by the Bumble Bees with Aira Sabih, Raahim Kashif and Yusra Furqan.
