The Learning Festival

It was a bright sunny morning and Primary II Campus, P.E.C.H.S rang with the laughter and chatter of happy students and parents who came to visit The Learning Festival- Learn To Succeed at the school.

                                                                                   

                   
The Learning Festival was an opportunity for the parents to catch a glimpse of the teaching strategies implemented by the teachers of Primary II Campus, P.E.C.H.S in their classrooms.
Different activities for the subjects of Mathematics, English, Science and Urdu were displayed for the parents throughout the school. The English Department of the school showcased hands -on learning strategies on Creative Writing and Punctuation, while Ted Talks and Spelling Bee were part of the English Language Development Program.

                       

                               

                                             
Visiting parents and students were able to challenge themselves with our widely popular station in the Mathematics Department, “Are you smarter than a fifth grader?”

     
The Early Years Team engaged young learners in their ‘Dino World,’ while the Urdu Department brought forth our talented young actors with their play “Izzat Maab Cheetah.” Students were introduced to Urdu poetry through the ‘Baitbaazi” program, while the little stars of Nursery put on an “Animal Song.”

                                             
The Science Department showcased Project Based Learning which engages students in the Active Learning process- a hallmark of the Beaconhouse School System, while our Motivational Stars displayed projects that they had undertaken to make their community a better place.

The Art Department showcased student work in the amazing Art Gallery, the focal point of which was the surrealist paintings done by Grade Vs.

                                                

An informative session on modern-day parenting, “Parent As A Coach,” was taken by Mr. Yasir Waheed , a certified Global Leadership Coach. 

                               

Farzana Devani, a specialist in Early Childhood Education, introduced the CPA approach in “Mathematics in Action,’ an innovative approach to teaching Mathematics in the classroom and at home. 
Our Learning Festival was also visited by Ms Sadia Amir, the Cluster Convener of Clusters 28-29, who engaged with the students and appreciated their efforts in the Learning Festival.

The day was wrapped by students of Grade V singing the ‘Punctuation Song’ which enables our learners to never forget their punctuation marks while writing!
