Games and sports have become an integral element of present-day education. They teach them the qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit, and leadership, enhancing physical and mental development.

Beaconhouse School System, Primary II PECHS provides students with an opportunity to excel both in academics and extracurricular activities which enriches their cognitive and psychomotor skills.

 

Primary II, PECHS held Annual Sports Day on 26th February 2022 at National Coaching Centre, amidst a lot of fun and frolic.

 

The event was honoured with our praiseworthy chief guest Ms. Natalia Vadimovna Iqbal a Gymnastic coach, international CrossFit judge, group fitness trainer, and nutritionist, and Mr. Waseem Badami a Pakistani television host and news anchor who currently hosts a political talk show 11th Hours on ARY News.

 

The Annual Sports Day began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem beautifully played by Ali Rehmani of Class V-É.

Anticipation was at an all-time high as our students showcased the theme of the Annual Sports Day which displayed students unplugging themselves from their devices and sedentary routines and adopting healthy and active lifestyles. The Annual Sports Day was declared open by our honoured guests who cut the ribbon and were presented with shields as a memoir of the event.

The oath-taking ceremony was led by the Headboy and Headgirl with the Sports Captains and Vice Captains who reinforced their commitment to their duties and obligations to the school. After this, the whole ground presented a festive look as it was filled with different house colours and students were ready for the march past led by their house captains. Next in line was Band Display where band members presented different tunes on flutes and drums. Then, students of class I-III presented the most colourful and lively PT display with Pompoms.

After the marvelous PT display, girls in black attire were ready with their hula-hoops to mesmerize the audience with their performance. Right after this, students of grades IV and V took the ground for their spectacular PT display. It was captivating!  a perfect blend of synchronized moves and divine music. Later, the audience witnessed the mesmerizing performance by the young yogis. After yoga, the young gymnasts amazed the audience with their flexibility, balance, and coordination giving an astounding display of cartwheels and monkey rolls.

Taekwondo is a traditional Korean martial art. Taekwondo includes physical techniques, mental disciplines, and deep philosophy. The ground was covered in a sea of white as our determined students displayed complete self-discipline, strength, and stamina with various moves.

Last but not the least it was time for the most awaited races! All winners and participants were awarded medals by our chief guests as they all did their way to win points for their respective houses. The students of Jaguars were super excited to receive their house trophy.

An extraordinary event was witnessed with good sportsman spirit and competition. We were pleased that all participants were engrossed in back-to-back activities and applauded the hard work of our teachers and students.
