School Sports foster school spirit in the students and teach them teamwork, self-confidence, and self-discipline. They enable the learner to develop mutual trust and cooperation, enhancing the physical and mental abilities of the players.
Primary II, PECHS prides itself on giving its students a comprehensive education according to the BSS Learners Profile. Our students are given opportunities to participate in learning activities both within and beyond the classroom to develop their cognitive as well as psychomotor skills.
The Sports Department of Primary II, PECHS organized an Inter-House Girls Throwball Tournament to welcome the return of competitive sports as we emerge from the pandemic of COVID-19.
The anticipation was palpable and a frisson of excitement laced the air as the tournament began on the 16th of November with Round 1, where Panthers Team A, B, and C played against the Tigers, Leopards, and the Jaguars.
Cheered on by their supporters, the Panthers Team B qualified for the Finals.
A fine day dawned on Friday, 19th November as our Semi-finalists the Tigers Team A and the Leopards battled on the playing field to reach the finals. After an impressive display of teamwork, dexterity, coordination, and speed; the Leopards won the Semi-Finals to qualify for the finals.
Thus, dawns Monday 22nd November, the Day of Reckoning!
The enthusiasm for the game was a raging undercurrent in the students and teachers as the Leopards prepared to battle it out with the Panthers on the Throw-ball field.
The Leopards Team won the toss and opted to court the ball. As the match progressed, the determination to win was evident in both teams, as neither refused to give up displaying incredible speed, grace, and strength.
However, Leopards won both matches at the end of the day and were declared winners of the Inter-House Girls Throwball Tournament.
Trophies and certificates were awarded to both the winners and the runners-up teams by the headmistress, Ms. Saima Anwar.
