Due to the continuous use of screens, people around the world have developed refractive errors in the eyes, due to which the shape of the eye fails to bend light correctly, resulting in a blurred image. Refractive errors can be treated, if addressed timely.

A thorough eye screening campaign was conducted by a very generous team of eye specialists at Beaconhouse Warsak Campus Peshawar this Friday, who, by all means, tried their best to facilitate the students.

Eye health awareness was raised in the morning assembly and the common vision problems, that most of us have, which we do not realise under the normal circumstances were discussed.

All the students and the teachers had a comprehensive dilated eye exam where they were screened for refractive errors and were given required suggestions based on the observations and the data collected by the doctors.

Such an involvement by the schools is straightforward: identifying and curing vision issues can increase students’ success rate. If students are unable to see properly, they cannot read their own textbooks or anything written on the board. This can greatly hinder their hopes of keeping pace with the course demands as they will be at high risk of underperforming and will not be able to reach their full potential.

Hence, by identifying and treating vision problems at an early age, students will acquire knowledge at a faster rate, which will harvest both private and social benefits.
