Exams are just around the corner!  A reoccurring dream for almost all of us is a test-taking nightmare.  Whether you are in college or not, you have studied a lot or not still to maintain your calm can be challenging. A survey was run in BCP- Potohar for it’s students. This was in order to understand the potential triggers for those who had scored moderately high on test anxiety questionnaire.

For Advance levels students, understanding where the stress is coming from is essential so that they may know how to avoid the triggers—or to at least recognize what’s happening, so they can use stress-reduction tools and techniques which can be employed to reduce stress before, during and after taking a test.

Prepare for your test by planning, scheduling, studying, and practicing. Learn to study effectively, talk to your teachers, study in a routine and at an identified study spot, eat and drink, get plenty of sleep, see a professional counselor if necessary.

On the exam day give yourself positive affirmations. You have studied a lot! Be confident you are well prepared. Practice deep breathing and if you find yourself tensed, go for a head-to-toe body scan and relax your stress-holding muscles. Attempt those questions first that you know the best and then complete the rest of the paper.

Congratulations! Pat yourself on the back, you have completed the test !!
