When students are feelings restless or anxious, what’s the best way to calm them down and bring them back to a relaxed state?
It’s YOGA!
Kids as early as three years old can reap the benefits of yoga which include self-awareness, higher attention span, more focus, less impulsive behaviour and overall a calmer relaxed state of mind.
Early years of BSS-BEI campus organized a ‘witness for fitness’ day on Friday, 20th May. All the early year students enthusiastically followed Ma’am Tanzeel and other teachers to perfect their yoga poses. Along with yoga, they also practiced their Zumba moves.
Principal Amna Usman was delighted to see the young students practice mindfulness exercises at such an early stage. “All of the benefits that yoga brings to adults are amplified for children, which is why it’s important to introduce yoga to children during these impressionable years,” she stated.
“Once children learn these poses, learn how to breathe and relax, they will be able to use these small but powerful techniques later on in their lives.”
