The holy month of Ramadan brings multiple blessings and prayers with it. It bestows us all with tranquility and a sense of peace while teaching the norms of self discipline and abstinence. The month is indeed filled with much joy and happiness. Along with elders, children who are at the age of young adolescence tend to fast a lot as they try to bring about a habit of fasting. Though a wonderful practice but with school it becomes quite strenuous for the students. However, there a few simple tips and tricks that can be employed to ensure that your fast goes by like a smooth breeze as you sit and study in school.
Firstly, dear reader, do ensure that you have a healthy and fulfilling Sehri which has less carbs and more proteins in it. Though sugar and carbs feel quite filling at the moment yet after a few hours it all goes away and you’re left with intense hunger pangs. So to save yourself the trouble how about we keep a focus on protein based diets that will keep you healthy and active throughout the day. Try to go for foods like meat, eggs, milk etc. which tend to keep you filled up longer and the best option is definitely smoothies which are a major boost of nutrition.
Secondly, get substantial food portions in Sehri rather than iftari. By the time we digest our iftari it’s only about 12 midnight so it’s more intelligible to get a large portion of Sehri as it’s closer to your school timings.
Thirdly, try to drink a litre of water in Sehri. Though it will cost you multiple trips to the powder room yet it will keep you hydrated through out the day.
And lastly, dear reader, utilise this holy month to pray as much as you can for your own happiness, bliss and personal care. Till we meet again my dear readers.
