In the last 20 years the human race has achieved major milestones in its technological domain. The cellular phone has morphed into the ever convenient, all in one smartphone, sound systems have developed into a travel friendly air pod and the Atari console has been surpassed by big names like Xbox and Play stations with high resolution graphics. Yet this advancement in technology would be futile if our future generations do not familiarise themselves with the algorithms and functioning of these devices. For this very purpose two Swedish friends orchestrated a plan to organise an yearly event which would assist the young in their understanding of informatics and computing.
On 2 December, 2021 Beaconhouse Bahria Enclave campus hosted the International Bebras Informatics Contest. This helped the students to gain a more in depth fluency of computer skills all the while enjoying the various fun and engaging tasks. The International Bebras Informatics Contest is a competition held annually to polish the computing and computation thinking skills of all students at each grade level. Composed of various games and mind boggling questions the contest enables a student to become conversant with the computer language. It also gears up a student to pursue a career in computer science, software engineering and app development. An interesting activity definitely recommended to all.
