As the academic year is nearing an end, students can’t help feel excited about summer vacation coming up. But, before they get to enjoy the holidays, they have one last hurdle to face…FINAL EXAMS!

It’s natural to face a little bit of anxiety before exam season but I am here today to share powerful strategies with you that will have you studying smarter, and not just harder. Be sure to thank me later!

1. Never cram the night before. Good studying habits mean that you set out a timetable well in advance and work in short spurts on a daily basis. The time should be uninterrupted and dedicated solely to your studies.

2. Silence is your friend. Whilst studying, cut off all distractions and find a quiet place where you can concentrate fully. And this means silencing your phone and social media as well!

3. Make the most of your resources. Use the material your teachers have provided you but also supplement with other educational tools such as presentations and videos. You can even do practice tests online. And don’t be shy to ask your teachers for extra help when you need it.

4. Take good notes. Get in the habit of good note taking in class. This will help you retain more information and you won’t miss out on important details.

5. Find joy in studying. Don’t make studying a burden or chore. If you see it with a more positive outlook, you will be more likely to stay engaged and focused. Play light music, eat snacks or drink juices or create a welcoming and fun study area to make the experience more enjoyable.
