Handwriting is a pertinent aspect of an individual’s life. What may seem, on the surface, to be mere words written together in reality gives an insight into a person’s thought patterns and abilities. Such as if a person writes rounded letters they are creative and artistic and if they write pointed letters they are considered intense and curious. Like the famous American author, Natalie Goldberg, said ‘Handwriting is more connected to the movement of the heart’.
On 15th October, 2021 the Primary section of Beaconhouse, Bahria Enclave Campus conducted a handwriting competition to bring forth and award our top calligraphers. The excellent penmanship demonstrated by these young artists was truly a sight to behold. All students in each grade level, from 1 till 5, were given a fair forum to demonstrate their skills. The Beaconhouse institute has upheld Nelson script as a guiding principle for neat copper-plate handwriting. This script combines the art of joining letters in a word while exuding confidence through them, all the while giving enough room to a child to develop their own writing style. The same script was endorsed for this competition as it brings out the true writing skills of every participant.
In all levels the most elegant and precise handwriting was awarded certificates for first, second and third positions, subsequently.
