On 8 December, 2021 Beaconhouse Bahria enclave campus hosted an exquisite celebration in honour of Iqbal Day.

Organised by our dedicated teachers and performed by our lovely students the event truly showcased the love, respect and honour that the nation holds in their hearts for the great poet, Allama M. Iqbal. Decorated with the beautiful stanzas of Iqbal’s spellbinding poetry the stage paid a tribute to our nation’s poet, while the participating students adorned beautiful dresses to complement the characters being played.

The event commenced with recitation of the Sacred and Glorious verses of the Holy Quran which brought about an atmosphere of tranquility and spirituality for the onlookers and performers alike. Groups of students took turns to sing anthems to honour the many immortalised poems and prose of Iqbal. Tableaus performed by the adorable students of primary section highlighted and sparkled the event by commemorating the popularised works of Iqbal including ‘labb pe aati hai dua ban kay tamana meri’ and ‘shehd ki makhi’

Students then proceeded to intonate the largely contemplative and philosophical poetry of Iqbal which beguiles and motivates all the while enchanting the reader and listener with its clever combination of beautiful words.

The event was concluded with a Sufi dance by the students which was a perfect wrap up of the marvellous celebration. The organisation and production of the celebration was truly alluring to the extent that it was lauded by all, parents and performers alike.

After completing my LLB degree I became an English language teacher in Beaconhouse School System. I’ve always had a passion for writing. Back in my school days I took part in many essay competitions. I adore the idea of having a quite work space and write extensive essays and blogs to share my thoughts with the world. I’ve also written articles for the Herald Tribune newspaper. I hope you do enjoy my blogs and that you’ll keep reading them. :)
