In this day and age the most common language across the world is English. If you travel to any region of the world like the Far East (Japan and Korea), Europe (Germany, Italy etc.) or the African continent and you would like to ask for directions, let’s say, while you’re not familiar with the native language, both persons would resort to English as the language of communication. In a research it was found that by 2022 the English language will have 1.4 billion speakers. Truly the most famous language, an English learner will focus on the two main aspects I.e spoken, in which pronunciation and written, in which spellings is the most important element.
Our school prides itself in providing an English focused curriculum. Our values assist us in building a stronger foundation of the English language for our students. For this very purpose, on 13th January, 2022 Beaconhouse Bahria Enclave Campus hosted a ‘Spelling Competition’. Students from grade 1 till 8 participated in this event which helped in polishing their vocabulary and spelling skills. The participating students were given booklets which they had to go through and pick out difficult words to memorise. This proved to be an excellent activity as the students themselves had to evaluate that which words are up to par with their grade level. Results were then compiled and submitted to the relevant personnel as the students securing first three positions in their grade level are to be given a very adorable and helpful WWF themed notebook. However, the main purpose and aim of this competition is to familiarise the students with new and various vocabulary words which would further help them in coming up with more interesting works of English language. Truly a competition recommended to all to participate in.
