BMI-B Cricket: A Spectacular Triumph

The school life is partial without extra-curricular entertainment alongside academic drain and compression that students bear. In fact, the calendar year of Schools is characterized by many such events relieving the pupils from the orthodox study routine. Moreover, it supports to increase confidence, mental alertness, and self-esteem. Sports are imperative in schools because it aids to teach countless skills to students like leadership, patience, patience, team efforts, and social skills.

The Beaconhouse campuses in the Northern Region modelled and brought forward the best cricketers from their numerous campuses to formulate a team that embodied their campus in the tournament. All the respective teams were trained by their respective coaches to battle for the cherished trophy. Same was the case here at BMI-B Beaconhouse Margalla Campus-Boys. After several trials, our Coach Sir Maqsood announced fifteen members of the team, keeping in mind the skills of each player and his place in the combination. The team practiced hard, having training sessions with their coach after school time.

     

Each BSS team strive to achieve and mark the milestone, However, not every campus team managed to qualify for this tournament. BMI-B zonal matches took place on 9th of November, at Safiullah Cricket ground. Out of the 32 teams, the eight shortlisted teams qualified for the mega event clashed with each other at Ayub Park Cricket ground on 24th and 25th November. BMI-B first match was against the Abbotabad Campus. Pressurized, as it was the quarter-final , Abbotabad team could not offer stiff resistance to BMI’s batsmen and bowlers, thus losing the match by a mammoth margin of 174 runs in a T20.

     

BMI-B played with a much tougher opponent, BSTR(Beaconhouse Satellite Town Campus). Though BSTR team managed to send our two batsmen to pavilion quite early, our remaining top order batsmen played quite intelligently and managed to score a considerable total of 189 runs. Our Captain, Azfar Mirza’s bowling then destroyed BSTR’s batting line up and they were defeated by nearly 100 runs.

 

   

Full of confidence, BMI-B then played their final match with Beaconhouse team of Mandi BAhuiddin the same evening. In a 15-over match watched by Chief Guest, Yasir Hameed, a former international cricketer, BMI-B’s batters set up a giant total of 178 runs. The under-pressure Mandi Bahauddin Cricket team soon realized they were fighting a battle they could not win, and managed to score only around 60 runs until all their batters fell victim to BMI-B’s bold bowling line-up.

 

     

Mrs. Rukhsana Shahzay wholeheartedly congratulates BMI-B whole cricket team for imprinting another milestone by ended the tournament in the favor of BMI-B cricket team and appreciate the way BMI-B cricket team managed to defend the title they had won in the previous tournament and maintained their position as the undefeatable champions. All the players, as well as the coach of the winner team were awarded with gold medals, and a trophy for the team.
