The notion of Iqbal day has been specified to only one day but in reality, it is incorporated into our lives for quite some time. His poetry is studied at every level, the concept of freedom and independence is given through his poetry at every level. This year a grand assembly was held in respect of our national poet who not only was praised by his people but by the people around him at his time. In the Early Years block, Sir Zafar Zaman personified Sir Allama Iqbal and gave an introduction to the students of Pre-nursery till Kindergarten The stage was set with the students dressed as poems of Sir Allama Iqbal. The Assembly was conducted by our Urdu Teacher Ma’am Nazma Shehzad who asked a few questions from the shared information to which the students of Early Years participated with enthusiasm. In Lower Primary Block, In the Iqbal day’s assembly, Allama Iqbal (Zir Zafar dressed as him) introduced himself to the kids, the kids shared some of his famous children’s poetry and everyone sang Lappay ati hai dua bankay. Miss Robina was the one Incharge of the assembly, she kept sharing poetry and information with the kids (she interviewed Allama Iqbal as well). It was filled with laughter and excitement, the kids realized his position as Shaer e Mashriq and mufakkir e Pakistan. They all said they wanted to be like him. It is not a day that is celebrated, it is the hope, freedom, competencies, and his personality that is refreshed on his Birthday.
