Culture day

Culture plays an important part in building a personality and helps identify the customs and norms of a society. This year Beaconhouse School System introduced culture to their learners in a fun way. Students from Pre-Nursery till Grade II were asked to dress up in Punjabi dress and bring Punjabi food in their lunch. The atmosphere could be heard with Banghra music in the background and our little Punjabis could be seen dancing on beats and jumping with joy.

Little girls of Pre-Nursery were seen wearing Paranda and khusa (a symbol of Punjabi culture). While the boys wore shalwar kameez and waistcoat with a turban on their heads. What a rich cultural environment it was. Our activity teachers organized cultural games like pithu garam. Students from all levels were enthralled to explore the Punjabi culture, its specialties in food, dressing, and games. Our worthy Principal Ms. Sabahat Malik also followed Punjabi culture by wearing Punjabi dress. Every school member was seen in Punjabi dress.

Cultural day helped in portraying the true picture of the culture and how the people followed the culture. Surely, now cultural dress and games are rarely seen but by celebrating cultural day brought all our childhood memories back to life
