This pandemic has affected each and every one around the world in one way or another. May it be financial or emotional stress or even the pain of not seeing your friends for a long time; elders and children alike were thrusted into a situation they were never prepared for. Schools were closed indefinitely and that had its toll on the mental health of all students. News of the school’s opening was a harbinger of good old times to come back for the students, but it brought with it the SOPs never heard of before: keeping distance from your best friends, wearing masks all the time, using sanitizer every now and then was something students were not used to. In spite of this, the opening of school was warmly and enthusiastically welcomed by all students and they somehow adjusted to this new normal.

Some students talked about this change quite openly. According to Alishba Majid from X Blue,

Opening of Schools after such a long time has honestly been a relief. I never thought I would be glad about going to school for five days. Studying face to face is way better than online classes and I guess Covid really did teach us that physical school is a blessing in disguise!”

Awais of IX Pink expressed his excitement in the following words,

“Coronavirus had closed all schools and subsequently killed all the excitement with it. Now finally having school life back almost feels everything’s back to normal. The joy of school is back and the mundane period of online classes is finally over.”

Haleema Sadia of X Blue shared her experience,

The pandemic has changed everyone’s life. Not just the life at home but also at school. Life back to normal feels unbelievable, especially at school. Seeing everyone every day after so long, interacting with teachers and peers; it’s simply just amazing to be back to normal.”

According to Raique Butt of X Yellow,

“Back to school was the most joyful moment of my past 2 years. It really excited me as these were the most important years of my academic career and Alhamdulillah finally everything has come back to normal which is a relief to most of us.”
